Avery Dennison is giving school supplies to the top ten
schools with the most votes. You can vote once each day until
August 31. Invite family and friends to vote. You can also
vote via your Facebook account.
Backpack
Program
This page gives information about the Backpack Program run by our
Family Resource and funded by local donations from the community. Its
goal is to provide students in an economically disadvantaged household
food during times they can't receive it at school, (like weekends and
holidays). It has been very successful in our community, thanks to the
hard work and donations.

This is a parent resource page from Disney. It is well-organized and
packed with ideas, articles, recipes, resources for parents of infants
to teenagers. It includes places to visit, computing information and
sounding boards for parent dialogue.

News
An attractive page that has many choices for parents: homework, movie
reviews (very thorough and objective), health news, book reviews, other
parent web sites, tip of the week, latest news for parents. Each has an
archive to past pages. This page is maintained weekly by a psychologist
and is sponsored by SOLA, an optical lense company.
Partnership
for Family Involvement in Education
This site comes from the US Department of Education and has as it's
mission "to promote children's learning through the development of
partnerships with families, schools, and the community." The PFIE has
thousands of members (listed in the partner link) and resources for
helping partnerships to develop within a school community.
ParenthoodWeb
If you want the latest in facts and figures or what parents are saying
in surveys, try this link. The home page lists many diverse article
titles to link to such as "How to get baby to sleep through the night"
or "The Super Sitter- safety guidelines." This page addresses more
concerns for parents with young children and for those who are
pregnant. It includes a site "Ask the Pros" where you can email a
question to their panel of professionals.

Center
Web pages that are structured like a ready reference manual can be very
useful. This one calls itself the Family Resource Center. Some places
to connect with are: Dictionaries, Math, Medical, History, Geography,
Weather, and What's Cookin'. Could come in handy for fast information.

Handbook: Math Games
EduPlace is an educational publishers website that has many helpful
suggestions for teachers, but this one is great for parents who want
quick, fun, and beneficial math activities that can be done at home.

The designers of this site describe it as "an online community center
for parents with children up to age 18...we provide a combination of
news, resources, information exchange, legislative tracking, exciting
projects, health resources, and various other on- and off-line
activities related to education." This is a very thorough site with a
large variety of choices and it's updated daily.
The U.S. Department of Education has many parent
help sites available. There are two series of sites: Learning Partners
and Helping Your Child Learn. Each includes research information,
additional resources, and activities to do with your children. Here are
